The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have passed a bill that will provide $1.1 billion in federal funding to fight the Zika virus.

The Senate's 72-26 vote as taken on Wednesday afternoon. Later in the day, the House passed the measure, 342-85. The White House said President Obama will sign the bill into law.

The bill will also fund government operations through Dec. 9, preventing a shutdown.

Congress has been slow to fund Zika prevention due to a dispute over whether Planned Parenthood clinics in Puerto Rico would be eligible for to receive those federal dollars.
