PARIS -- Accor said it acquired an additional 13% interest in
German hotel company Dorint, bringing its total ownership of the
firm to 30%.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Accor acquired a 17% interest in Dorint last August.
As part of the new move, Accor said it will co-brand all Dorint
hotels with its Sofitel, Novotel and Mercure flags.
Sales and marketing of Dorint will be integrated into the Accor
network, including its central reservations system, Web site and
guest recognition programs.
Accor said it has an option to acquire another 25% stake in
Dorint between 2008 and 2010.
Accor said the deal is subject to regulatory approval by German
authorities.
Dorint operates a total of 93 three-, four- and five-star
hotels, 77 of which are in Germany.
It also has about 20 hotels under construction or
development.
