Cap Juluca on Anguilla reopened Dec. 15 following a $22 million upgrade by Adam Aron, who purchased the resort last April. The property had been closed since August.
The upgrade included new soft goods in the guest rooms, a fleet of solar-powered golf carts for guests’ use at the resort and Lexus hybrids for island transportation.
A new "Eurobbean" menu (a fusion of European and Caribbean flavors) under executive chef Rene Bajeux is in place at signature restaurant Pimms. Spice (formerly the Kemia restaurant) introduced a Pan-Asian menu, and Blue (formerly George’s) now offers beachfront dining with tables and chairs set right in the sand.
The upgrade marked the first phase of a massive renovation program, which will include an $80 million makeover of the resort’s 18 Moorish-style guest villas and the addition of several new villas next year. The new villas will be designed by Oscar Farmer, Cap Juluca’s original architect.
Winter season rates through March start at $995 per room, per night, single or double. Rates include in-room breakfast, exercise classes, water sports and afternoon tea.
