Carlson Rezidor said it will introduce two new brands, Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection, as soon as next year.
Radisson Red will be what Carlson Rezidor calls a “lifestyle select” brand, combining modernist design and a technology emphasis with select-service operations.
The name appears to play off of Radisson Blu, Carlson Rezidor’s upper-upscale brand.
Among the attributes of Radisson Red hotels will be the ability for guests to check in to their rooms via smartphone.
The company's goal is to open up to 60 Radisson Red hotels by the end of the decade. The brand will launch next year in global “urban centers” Carlson Rezidor said, without being more specific.
The company is also readying Quorvus Collection, an umbrella brand for five-star independent hotels, with an emphasis on traditional architecture and guest wellness.
The Quorvus name stems from the Corvus constellation in the southern sky.
As is the case with hotels belonging to Marriott’s Autograph Collection and Choice Hotels’ Ascend Collection, Quorvus member hotels will keep their name, with Quorvus providing representation and marketing.
Carlson Rezidor said it will announce the first Quorvus Collection hotels by June. The company is looking to have 20 hotels within the group by 2020.
