PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- The Cendant Corp. launched a loyalty program
called TripRewards, which it said enables leisure travelers to earn
points or airline miles as quickly as frequent business travelers.
Originally announced to travel agents at the ASTA World Travel
Congress in October, the program was available in December to
frequent Cendant guests who could join TripRewards via
Cendant-brand Web sites.
The program, now available to anyone, features an "open earn"
structure that enables members "faster access to point-earning by
staying in Cendant-franchised hotels, renting Avis and Budget
rental cars, purchasing tax services from Jackson Hewitt and
purchasing everyday products and services from earning partners,"
Cendant said.
The points can be redeemed for hotel stays with no blackout
dates, certain airline tickets, vacations, electronics, theme park
tickets and gift certificates from some 46 retailers and
restaurants.
More information on the TripRewards program can be found at www.triprewards.com or by calling (800) FOR-TRIP.
Cendant encompasses Super 8, Days Inn, Ramada, Travelodge,
Howard Johnson, Knights Inn, Villager, Wingate Inn and AmeriHost
Inn hotel brands, among other subsidiaries.
