Club Med: Q3 results down despite Sept. uptick

PARIS -- Club Med saw a 10.9% increase in bookings over the four weeks ending Sept. 7, but it wasn't enough to offset an overall 13.5% decline in bookings for the third quarter, compared to the same period last year.

Club Med's third quarter financial results show the company's revenues consequently were $433 million for the quarter, down 10.5%.

So far this year, revenues are running 3.2% behind 2002. Club Med attributed the sudden upturn in bookings in September to the late booking trend experienced throughout the travel industry.
