GoldenEye resort in Orcabessa on Jamaica's north coast, one of Island Outpost's properties in Jamaica, will debut 26 new Beach Huts by the end of the year.
The 52-acre resort, owned by Jamaica-raised Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records, reopened in 2011 after a two-year refurbishment, and currently offers 19 units including beach and lagoon villas, cottages and the signature Fleming Villa where author Ian Fleming penned all 14 James Bond novels.
The 26 new octagonal-shaped units will not be air-conditioned, but will be strategically positioned to maximize the breezes from the ocean and surrounding hills. All will have beach or bay views and shuttered windows.
Ann Hodges, the architect who was behind GoldenEye's original villa and cottage concept, will blend the Beach Huts with the property's existing footprint. Interior designer Marika Kessler will use hues of blue, coral, green and purple in decor and accessories.
Also new will be She'been, a new restaurant and bar, as well as a pool.
