Kimpton, the boutique hotel brand owned by InterContinental Hotels Group, intends to open a hotel in Amsterdam in 2017. It will be Kimpton’s first hotel in Europe.

The hotel is currently operating as the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre (Crowne Plaza also is an IHG brand). Before the conversion, the property will undergo an extensive renovation of the guestrooms and public areas. As is customary for Kimpton hotels, it will have a destination restaurant and bar.

There are currently 59 managed Kimpton hotels in the U.S. and  a further 16 in the pipeline. Kimpton also runs 74 destination restaurants and bars.

Correction: The Netherlands hotel would be Kimpton's first in Europe, not first outside the U.S. The brand plans to open a Grand Cayman hotel in November.
