Manhattan's second hotel under Marriott International's Residence Inn badge has opened at what used to be the Helmsley Middletowne Hotel on New York's East 48th Street.
The Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Midtown East has 211 rooms as well as about 1,300 square feet of meetings space.
The 17-floor hotel includes a top-story penthouse suite with views of the Chrysler Building.
Manhattan is also home to the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Times Square. A dual-branded Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott is slated to open in a 68-story building at 54th Street and Broadway by the end of the year.
