The Nile Ritz-Carlton Cairo reopened on Thursday, six years after Marriott International’s luxury brand agreed to take over what was previously the Nile Hilton.
The hotel, which is located on the banks of the Nile, includes 331 rooms, an Olympic-size pool and a 19,000-square-foot conference hall.
Ritz-Carlton parent Marriott International initially targeted a 2011 opening date, but the project was delayed in part by civil unrest in the region. The hotel first opened in 1958 and is now Egypt’s only property under the Ritz-Carlton brand.
