Stockholm-based Scandic Hotels agreed to acquire Rica Hotels, boosting its hotel count in northern Europe by almost 50%.
Rica has 72 hotels: 65 in Norway and seven in Sweden. Scandic’s current portfolio contains 151 properties.
No purchase price was disclosed.
Following the acquisition, Rica hotels will begin a transition to the Scandic brand.
