Classic Vacations has appointed Jon Bennett global head of luxury experiences.

Bennett will "further develop Classic's luxury offering, working alongside advisors to create highly personalized journeys and uncover unique experiences for their clients," said the vacation packager.
"There are expanded offerings in the works, which is where Jon's role comes into play," a Classic spokeswoman said. "More will be announced soon."
Bennett comes to Classic following a 26-year career with luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent. At A&K, Bennett worked closely with luxury travel advisors in designing bespoke experiences.
Bennett said his philosophy is that "luxury travel goes beyond securing great accommodations."
"I believe it is equally important that a Classic Vacations guest experiences a destination in a way they didn't know was possible. I look forward to bringing that approach to Classic Vacations and working alongside advisors to uncover the people, places and experiences that can turn a well-planned trip into something truly exceptional," he said.
Bennett's appointment comes as the company is in a leadership transition. Melissa Krueger, who was CEO for five years, departed Classic last month.
Interim CEO and CFO Sharon Conway said Bennett's assignment will prove valuable as the company deepens its commitment to luxury travel.
