Woodstock, Vermont-based Discovery Bicycle Tours has been
acquired by Scott and Thistle Cone.
The 41-year-old company had been owned by Larry and Dawn
Niles for the past 27 years. The Cones completed the acquisition in late May.
The company will continue to operate as usual, with no
changes to its existing trips. Discovery Bicycle Tours offers more than 100
trips a year in New England and Quebec; the Mid-Atlantic states and Florida;
Italy, France and Spain; and Scotland, Ireland and Denmark.
The bike tour operator provides guides, van support and
roadside repairs. Itineraries cater to riders of all levels.
Discovery Bicycle Tours was founded in 1977 as Bike Vermont.
After the company began offering trips worldwide, it changed its name to
Discovery Bicycle Tours in 2010.
