BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Expedia altered the composition of top
management at its Classic Custom Vacations subsidiary, moving Ron
Letterman from president to chairman and replacing him in the
president's role with Bob Hohman.
Hohman, who is Expedia's vice president of packages and stores,
will be in charge of running Classic's day-to-day operations and
making strategic decisions, particularly in technology.
In his new role, Letterman will concentrate on building travel
agency relationships, and introducing new products and
services.
"This allows me to concentrate my time on the travel agents and
improving the relationships on the most senior level," said
Letterman. "Hohman brings in skills we have never had at Classic.
He's a Stanford graduate, a technology genius. He built a lot of
the technology and strategic initiatives at Expedia. We are
delighted to have him."
Before Expedia's acquisition of Classic, Letterman was president
and CEO of Classic Custom Vacations, and vice chairman, president
and CEO of Global Vacation Group, Classic's parent.
After Expedia's purchase of Classic Custom Vacations, Letterman
stayed on as president of Classic and became a senior vice
president of Expedia.
Both Hohman and Letterman will retain their Expedia titles.
