Intrepid Travel has been named to the Time100 Most Influential Companies list for 2023.
The adventure tour operator was recognized as a leader in responsible tourism and for its work toward advancing sustainable travel.
Time noted the company's achievement as the "first global tour operator to establish verified, science-based carbon-reduction targets" and its record-breaking booking days after launching a flight-free program, along with more than 100 Indigenous-led tours.
Founded in 1989, Intrepid is the only tour operator on the list. Disney made the list and so did two aviation companies: Eviation Aircraft and ZeroAvia.

Thornton added that the Time100 recognition "proves that our style of locally led small-group adventures is no longer a 'niche'.
