WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Rail Europe here and subsidiary Destination Europe Resources (DER), Rosemont, Ill., are floating two commissionable luxury "rail cruises" across southern France this year.

The companies are offering three-night "Great Southwest" rail itineraries between Bordeaux and Toulouse -- and nearby Carcassonne, home to Europe's largest fortress -- in either direction, from March through November.

Both tours -- priced at $4,335 per person, double, in low season, or $4,645 in high season -- offer a city tour of Bordeaux, with vineyard visits; a boat ride on the Dordogne River; a monastery stay in Tremolat; a cathedral organ recital in Albi; a tour of Carcassone; roundtrip air from Paris to Bourdeaux or Toulouse; all meals; luggage transfers; attractions admissions and other perks.

Both itineraries include travel on a 22-passenger luxury train, high-end hotel accommodations and gourmet meals, as well as the services of pursers and English-speaking guides.

Agent commission is 8%.

For departure dates or to book, call Rail Europe at (888) 382-7245 or visit agent.raileurope.com, or contact DER at (800) 782-2424 or visit www.der.com on line.
