Europe Resources (DER), Rosemont, Ill., are floating two
commissionable luxury "rail cruises" across southern France this
year.
The companies are offering three-night "Great Southwest" rail
itineraries between Bordeaux and Toulouse -- and nearby
Carcassonne, home to Europe's largest fortress -- in either
direction, from March through November.
Both tours -- priced at $4,335 per person, double, in low
season, or $4,645 in high season -- offer a city tour of Bordeaux,
with vineyard visits; a boat ride on the Dordogne River; a
monastery stay in Tremolat; a cathedral organ recital in Albi; a
tour of Carcassone; roundtrip air from Paris to Bourdeaux or
Toulouse; all meals; luggage transfers; attractions admissions and
other perks.
Both itineraries include travel on a 22-passenger luxury train,
high-end hotel accommodations and gourmet meals, as well as the
services of pursers and English-speaking guides.
