SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Sunquest will discontinue its charter Hawaii product out of Los Angeles at the end of August and reintroduce it next April.

A spokeswoman said the company decided it was more cost-effective to run charters on a seasonal basis.

Sunquest will continue operating 10 charters a week through the end of August. Clients with bookings beyond August will be accommodated on other carriers.

Travel agents will continue earning 14% commission on Sunquest bookings. Sunquest's parent company, North American Leisure Group, the Toronto-based subsidiary of Airtours, will merge the Sunquest brand into SunTrips, its other U.S. acquisition, beginning in 2001.
