Tour operator conglomerate The Travel Corporation has
partnered with VizEat, a culinary experience provider with 22,000 local hosts
in 110 countries.
The VizEat app was launched in 2014 and has grown into a
global platform enabling users to book meals at local hosts'
homes.
Through the new partnership, guests traveling with The
Travel Corporation brands will be able to connect to VizEat hosts for meals
prepared by trained chefs and home cooks. Examples of experiences include a
pasta-making class in Rome, an interactive market tour in Barcelona, and a wine
and cheese tasting in Paris.
The Travel Corporation said that it is looking into building
VizEat experiences into some of its itineraries, in which case the hosted meals
would be included. The Travel Corporation is also looking at offering the
VizEat experiences as optional excursions at the time of booking or during a
tour or river cruise, in which case there would be an additional cost. The
price for a VizEat dinner is approximately 50 euros.
The partnership kicks off this summer on select trips.
Interested travelers should ask their travel directors and tour managers about
booking a VizEat experience.
