Travel Weekly is proud to present your nominees for the 2007 Readers' Choice Awards. The winners will be announced at the Fifth Annual Readers' Choice Awards gala at the Pierre New York on Dec. 13 and featured in the Jan. 21 issue of Travel Weekly.
Introduction
During the five years since Travel Weekly presented its first annual Readers' Choice Awards, tourism suppliers have been adapting to ever-changing technology, product and consumer preference. Hotel chains have been planting their flags in cities around the globe and maintaining standards so that travelers will feel "at home" anywhere in the world; travel agents, tour operators and cruise lines have been searching the map for 
places that will provide "authentic experiences" for their clients; and airlines have been building their fleets and adding new routes. Made-in-America theme parks and car rental companies have been sprouting in Europe and Asia, and CVBs and tourism boards have been promoting their people and culture to a new breed of tourist, the experiential traveler.
From a mix of 15 interrelated businesses, Travel Weekly readers voted to select the finalists in this year's Readers' Choice Awards poll. For the fifth consecutive year, our readership of agents, industry marketing executives and CEOs of the world's largest travel companies responded to our e-mail invitation to vote for this year's nominees for the best in travel in 51 categories.
Unlike many other readers' surveys of its type, this survey is open-ended. It represents not the opinions of a select sample of readers whose choices are culled from a select list of candidates but, rather, the picks of the industry, illuminated by our readers and tabulated by Northstar Travel Media.
