With sales of tours and all-inclusive resorts continuing to
grow, the CruiseOne and Dream Vacations franchises and the Cruises Inc. host agency introduced new technology for
booking land vacations. All three brands are owned by World Travel Holdings.
The technology, known as Land Booking, is expected to
simplify the booking process for agents. They will have access to Travel Planner,
an itinerary builder that creates custom itineraries and offers them in app
format to clients. Travel Planner also enables agents to communicate with
clients when they are traveling.
Land Booking is compatible with multiple browsers and
devices. It is customizable, and agents can add details to invoices and emails.
It also gives their clients the chance to share details about their trip,
inviting others to join them but eliminating the price and personal details.
Travel Planner enables agents to auto-generate itineraries
that clients can view on browsers and devices. It has an interactive mobile
app. In addition to reservation details, it includes information on the
destination and advisor-recommended excursions, restaurants and shopping. The
app works offline.
"Our mission is to provide solutions for travel agents
who are often burdened by having to use multiple systems to book different
products such as cruise and land vacations," said Sandi Szalay, vice
president of information technology. "To accomplish this, we worked
closely with our agents to develop land technology within our current
reservation system which not only provides a consistent agent booking
experience whether booking a cruise or land package, but also creates a very
consistent customer experience through the customizable itinerary builder."
