For the first time, agencies in the American Express Representative Network can assist their clients in redeeming Membership Rewards points as partial or full payment for trips.
Previously, only AmEx’s own offices could participate in the Membership Rewards Pay with Points Program.
AmEx provides a special portal for redemption purposes, and trips paid for with points are 100% eligible for a travel agent commission, said AmEx.
The company said the new option lets agencies in the rep network "service a larger customer base, allowing for even greater added value for their customers, and provides them with the same products and tools available to American Express offices."
