Avoya Travel (No. 22 on Travel Weekly's 2022 Power List) has launched the beta test for its new air booking platform, Avoya Flights.

The platform was teased during Avoya's conference last fall, when it was referred to as "Project Eagle."

Avoya Flights has a dedicated support desk for travel advisors and "a vast selection of commissionable airfares," the host agency said. Both the air booking engine and access to the air desk are built into Avoya's Agent Power platform. All tickets are reviewed by the air desk.

Avoya said it has historically focused on cruises, hotels and tours "due to antiquated GDS technology and the lack of commissionable airfares."However, the host agency wanted to find a way to integrate air bookings for advisors or give them the ability to outsource bookings to an air desk.

Select Avoya members are able to access the beta test. The host agency plans to open the platform to the rest of its network by the second quarter.

"The launch of Avoya Flights ushers in a new era for Avoya's travelers and advisors," co-CEO Jeff Anderson said. "The ability to seamlessly provide bespoke vacation planning and booking services to now include air travel will help elevate the Avoya network to new heights."
