Envoyage has committed to initially sending 100 advisors through ASTA's Verified Travel Advisor (VTA) certification program.
More than 50 Envoyage advisors recently participated in the VTA Fast Track Course in person with ASTA during Envoyage's employee conference at the Secrets Playa Esmeralda, Dominican Republic. That marked the first time ASTA partnered with an agency network to hold the program in person.
Ultimately, Envoyage has the goal of getting 200 advisors in the U.S. VTA certified in the next six months. They will be highlighted on Envoyage's consumer-facing website.
"This initiative is about setting the bar for what professional travel advising should and needs to be," Christina Pedroni, executive vice president and general manager of the U.S. for Envoyage, said in a release. "By supporting the Verified Travel Advisor program, we're providing our members with access to the credentials they need and deserve and the opportunity to become officially certified by ASTA, our industry's leading professional organization."
ASTA said professionalism today is especially important "in a market increasingly crowded with unverified 'influencers' and those claiming to be travel advisors with no credentials or training."
Society CEO Zane Kerby applauded Envoyage's commitment to the VTA program.
"They are making professionalism, accountability and verified training in travel advising the top priority," he said.
