SECAUCUS, N.J. -- Hoteliers advertising Hot Specials on the Hotel
& Travel Index (HTI) Web site will be able to increase
distribution because of an agreement with MailPound.
Advertisers of Hot Specials on www.htihotelink.com can purchase a premium package
that automatically posts their hotel deals on the travel agent-only
site, www.mailpound.com.
In addition, Mailpound creates a version of the specials --
minus commission and direct supplier booking information -- that
agents can fax to clients. Agency information is included in the
faxes.
Mailpound also distributes the Hot Specials to Web sites that it
is offering to create for agencies.
The advertising agreement is between MailPound parent Smart
Travel Technologies, based in Marlton, and Northstar Travel Media,
the parent of HTI, Travel Weekly and Travel Age West.
Even before the new agreement, Hot Specials advertised on
HTIhotelink also appeared on TravelWeekly.com, and in
TravelAgeWest.com.
Bob Maier, the president of Smart Travel Technologies, said
69,000 agents registered with Mailpound.com and the site has
welcomed 3 million visitors.
