LAS VEGAS -- Nancy Strong of Strong Travel in Dallas was named ASTA
Travel Agent of the Year, and Fred Kassner, co-founder of Liberty
Travel and Gogo Worldwide Vacations, was inducted posthumously into
the Travel Hall of Fame during the closing general session at the
Society's World Travel Congress here.
Strong is a 25-year industry veteran who operated her own agency
for 12 years before selling it in 1987.
She re-entered the in-dustry in 1989 by purchasing a Dallas
leisure agency and merging it with her son's corporate agency to
form Strong Travel Services.
Outgoing ASTA president Joe Galloway said Strong was chosen for
her "commitment and devotion to the travel industry" and for her
"dedication to providing individualized care and attention to each
and every client."
