Travel Institute updates, expands certification program: Travel Weekly

The Travel Institute has released the 10th edition of its Certified Travel Associate (CTA) program, which includes two new sections.

Marketing and Promoting Your Business is a five-lesson module covering marketing principals and guidance on strategies and tactics.

Accepting and Processing Payments is a three-lesson module that the Institute describes as "a 'how to' on payment processing best practices" as well as security.

All 15 learning modules have been updated. Significant updates have been made to the Business Ethics module, including a new agent code of ethics. And there are new tips in Customer-focused Selling. Important in today's travel-selling environment is a new "what to do/not do" section on travel insurance that provides advice specific to the U.S. and Canada.

CTA students can choose online or print options or a hybrid of the two for their curriculum. It starts at $550.
