MADRID -- Amadeus said it cut a deal with BroadVision, a leading
purveyor of e-commerce technology, to develop a new generation of
e-commerce tools for travel Web sites.
The two firms also will take equity stakes in each other, valued
at a total of $10 million.
A key feature of the new e-commerce travel product, according to
Amadeus, will be the ability of booking agents to "dynamically
apply personalized client profile criteria" to search requests.
The product, which appears to have no name, will launch later
this summer for business-to-business, business-to-consumer and
business-to-employee environments.
The pair already are involved in a joint venture with Bank of
America and Hewlett-Packard, offering travel management services
using BroadVision's e-business applications and the Amadeus booking
engine.
