MIAMI -- European Travel Network, a consortium of travel agencies
that specialize in discounted air fares, launched an on-line
database of the group's air fares at SimpleFareBase.com.
The database is limited to fares for international routes that
originate in the U.S. Because the site conducts the transactions
off line, participating agencies can avoid Internet booking pay
caps.
Each transaction is booked by an off-line travel agent.
SimpleFareBase requires users to enter flight origin,
destination and date of travel information, and the site searches
the ETN database for available fares. Visitors can check as many
fares as they want before purchasing via credit card.
