EAST GREENVILLE, Pa. -- On-line discount travel specialist1travel.com, based
here, introduced a new type of discount pricing, called White
Label, which provides information up front to Web shoppers but
discloses other details, like the name of the airline, until after
they buy.
"White Label flights answer the needs of price-sensitive
travelers who are willing to trade full disclosure for rock- bottom
prices," 1travel.com said.
White Label flights automatically will be shown to travelers as
an option when they use the 1travel.com's Farebeater reservations
system -- assuming availability matches the travelers requested
itinerary, the company said.
When a White Label flight is offered, travelers will see
approximate departure and arrival times, the number of connections,
the trip duration, ticket restrictions and the complete price.
Complete flight details are made known after a traveler buys the
ticket.
1travel.com said its Farebeater reservation system currently
offers 8 million consolidator air fares and more than 20 million
regular published fares.
1travel.com said it currently offers White Label flights on five
major airlines and is negotiating with several other carriers to
expand its inventory.
The company plans to incorporate White Label pricing for hotels,
car rentals, cruises and vacation packages in the near future.
