Sabre Travel Network this week unveiled a new graphical view for Sabre Red, the company’s new travel agent platform.
The graphical view expands initial graphical capabilities launched in Sabre Red last summer. Sabre is expanding a beta test of the enhanced graphical view to more than 50 agencies around the world, with plans to begin a global market release later this year.
Sabre said the graphical view simplifies the shopping and booking process for air, car and hotel, enabling agents to do their job with fewer keystrokes. It also will enable agency owners to reduce training time for new agents from six to two weeks, claimed Sabre.
Agents can navigate the graphical view via keyboard and/or mouse. Also, agents who prefer the old "blue screen" environment can toggle between the graphical interface and the blue screen, Sabre said.
Some other new capabilities are the ability to shop for air travel options using flexible dates; map-based shopping for hotels; the ability to email travel options to the customer during the shopping process; and the ability to use traditional GDS commands in the graphical view.
The new graphical view will be available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Japanese.
Sabre said it has upgraded 120,000 agents in 110 countries to Sabre Red.
