Travelport enables online check-in through itinerary service

Travelport GDS has added online check-in to the capabilities of its web-based ViewTrip itinerary service.

The check-in facility is available to all Travelport customers worldwide when they use ViewTrip itineraries involving any of seven airlines: British Airways, Delta, Frontier, Midwest Airlines, Swiss, BMI and Virgin Atlantic.

Travel agents using ViewTrip can include direct links to these carriers’ online check-in services as part of their emailed booking confirmations for clients.

Travelport said it is in discussions to enhance ViewTrip with online check-in for another 80 airlines.

ViewTrip was created eight years ago as a Galileo product. Its features include flight and gate information, weather updates, maps and driving directions.
