As I hope you've noticed, we've added some features to this site
and we have big plans in the works for a lot more. In addition to
our daily news updates, feature stories, fam trip listings,
interactive message boards and many other departments, you can now
link to Amazon.com and to the Weather Channel's weather.com and
shortly we'll be announcing a major enhancement that will
significantly expand the amount of travel information available to
you.
We've also started an e-mail service that provides today's top
headlines. It's going out to an extensive list of e-mail addresses
including all TWCrossroads.com subscribers.
Of course people who receive can "opt out" if they prefer but so
far the vast majority of recipients are "opting in" and many have
written to tell us they appreciate the daily "heads up" of industry
news. We're keeping it brief so that it doesn't take you a lot of
time to read.
I'd appreciate your e-mailing to let me know what other services
you'd like to see on TWCrossroads.com. Providing the right blend of
content and online tools is a major objective of our editorial
team.
Interactivity is the hallmark of the Internet and we want to
fill this site with more interactive features. We've been running
"Instapoll," our home page survey, for some time and publishing the
results on line and in Travel Weekly.
Our message boards in the Forum section include a popular Legal
Issues board monitored by prominent travel attorney Mark Pestronk
who answers sticky legal questions that on-line subscribers
pose.
In other message boards on the Forum, travel professionals talk
with each other. One of my favorites is Agent Issues where lively
on-line threads touch on a wide range of concerns.
Sometimes I start a thread to learn more about a particular
subject and, more often than not, agents chime in and keep me
informed. It's even more fun when they don't agree with each
other.
We have aspirations to do cyber-conferences with industry
leaders as well as our own editors, allowing you to use the site as
a way to communicate in real-time with other travel
professionals.
Please take a moment and e-mail me at [email protected] to let us know what
else you'd like to see on the site.
