Codacons, a consumer-rights organization in Italy, announced on its website that it has launched a class-action lawsuit against Costa Cruises on behalf of passengers aboard the wrecked Costa Concordia.

The nonprofit group, which is an umbrella organization of consumer- and environmental-protection entities, told some media outlets that more than 70 people who were aboard the Concordia have already joined the suit.
