IT'S SUMMER
IN LAS VEGAS, prompting several hotels to showcase new
features and attractions to lure guests poolside:
" The first Beach Casino on the Strip is open at
Mandalay Bay. Part of a $30 million expansion at the pool, the
climate controlled Beach Casino allows guests to enjoy beachside
casino games without changing out of their swimwear.
" The Rio Hotel & Casino has introduced VooDoo Beach
at the Rio, showcasing creative cocktails and the Rio's famous
flair bartenders (who flip and juggle bottles and glasses).
Poolside entertainment, private cabanas, hammocks and a casual
atmosphere round out the experience.
" The Flamingo Casino Hotel renamed its upper pool the
Flamingo Go pool, which is restricted to guests aged 21 and over
and allows topless sunbathing. The company relandscaped the pool
area to give it a secluded, tropical feel.
" The Excalibur Hotel Casino will update their pool
attractions by late summer with hot tubs, waterfalls, sun decks
overlooking the pool, cabanas and a new restaurant.
TONY

Tony Award-winning "The Producers" starting Aug. 13, the Paris Las
Vegas Hotel Casino said. Danza, who is best known for starring
roles in TV shows like "Taxi" and "Who's the Boss," has appeared in
the Broadway run of the "Producers." In Las Vegas, Danza will play
one of the lead roles, the womanizing producer Max Bialystock. Show
times are Monday through Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday nights at 6
p.m. and 9 p.m. at Paris Las Vegas. For more information, call
(877) 374-7469 or visit www.parislasvegas.com.
CORRECTION: The June 12 Las Vegas E-Letter
incorrectly reported that Funjet Vacations and the Las Vegas
Convention and Visitors Authority would award a luxury car to the
travel agent who earned the most points during a Funjet incentive
program running through Oct. 31. The car will actually be awarded
through a random drawing of the top-earning agents.
