Seattle-Tacoma Airport has opened a $399 million expansion to its C Concourse, featuring new retail locations and art installations.
The 145,000-square-foot expansion also has a prayer and meditation room, a sensory room, a performance area and an airfield observation area called The Lookout at C.
The four-level expansion is located between the airport's C and D concourses and occupies an area formerly utilized for offices and tenant storage.
Designed to invoke the natural environment of the Pacific Northwest, the expansion area's centerpiece is an overhead western hemlock pattern called the Tree at C.
The new area has 10 permanent restaurants and shops as well as six kiosks that will be occupied on a revolving basis by emerging artisans. It will also house a 41,000-square-foot Alaska Airlines lounge that is expected to open late next year.
The C Concourse expansion is part of the larger Upgrade SEA program that began in 2023. Other completions this year will include a modernization of the airport's S Concourse, roadway widening and baggage-delivery optimization.
