The Global Wellness Summit said Thursday it was moving its
2019 gathering from Hong Kong to Singapore.
The event will now take place at the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
The dates remain the same, Oct. 15-17. Organizers expect 600 delegates.
Mass protests have besieged Hong Kong all summer. Protestors
invaded the airport terminal earlier this week, closing the airport for two
days.
"In an effort to ensure travel is as seamless as
possible in and out of the Global Wellness Summit, our GWS leadership, advisory
board and partners felt this shift in location was important for the collective
wellbeing of everyone involved with the summit," said Global Wellness
Summit chair and CEO Susie Ellis. "We are working closely with event
organizers and the host sponsor to ensure the event remains first-class and
there is little interruption for all attendees and presenters."
