American Airlines will stop flying from New York Kennedy to Santo Domingo and Santiago, Dominican Republic, on April 1.

The pullout reduces competition for JetBlue and Delta, airlines that serve both of those D.R. destinations from Kennedy.

American will continue to serve Santo Domingo from Miami with four daily flights.
