Despite being one of Hurricane Irma's worst-hit destinations, Antigua and Barbuda this year are showing strong numbers in visitor arrivals.
According to the quarterly visitor arrivals report released by the statistics department within the Ministry of Tourism and Investment, the bulk of arrivals have been between July and September, when 26,631 visitors arrived by sea and 52,491 visitors arrived by air.
A 12% growth in arrivals from the U.S. market has contributed to the majority of the increase in arrivals for the third quarter.
Overall, from January to September, the visitor arrivals recorded for Antigua and Barbuda is 744,390, an increase of 12.2% over the same period in 2017.
