Cayman Turtle Farm gets new name, look when it reopens

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman -- Boatswains Beach, the Cayman Islands owned-and-operated Turtle Farm, plans to reopen in January 2006 north of George Town, Grand Cayman, after extensive renovations.

Expanded facilities for visitors will include nature trails; swimming and snorkeling with turtles, fish and other marine life in a 1.3-million-gallon saltwater lagoon; a Caymanian heritage street fair with vendors selling crafts and other goods; and restaurants.

Other post-Ivan reopenings include the Wyndham Sunshine Suites Resort on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman on May 6; the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort in August, which has a soft opening set for June 1; and 36 new suites at The Reef Resort, also on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman, in late summer 2006.
