The InterContinental San Juan on Isla Verde beach reopened Jan. 27, following a multimillion-dollar renovation project.
The 398-room resort offers guests an outdoor lagoon pool with a swim-up bar, seven restaurants and bars, 24,000 square feet of event space and new artwork and furnishings.
The Akua Spa will open this month.
"The reimagined InterContinental San Juan has been a labor of love as we sought to update the resort while staying true to the local culture and personality of the city," said Michael Herrmann, its general manager.
The restaurants and bars are the Ocean Breeze, reportedly the only toes-in-the-sand oceanfront bar in Isla Verde; Sak-I serving Asian cuisine; Ruth's Chris Steak House; La Bodeguita cafe and wine bar; Aleli, the main breakfast eatery; the Akua swim-up bar serving lunch and tropical drinks, and Karaya, the indoor/outdoor main bar.
Room rates start at $329 per room, per night, double.
