JetBlue has added flights to the Dominican Republic to support the Thanksgiving travel demand. Over the peak holiday period, the carrier is offering nonstop flights from New York Kennedy to both Santiago and Santo Domingo.

The flights operate between Nov. 20 and Nov. 30 and are part of JetBlue's strategy to add capacity on routes that would appeal to leisure travelers and those visiting friends and relatives.

"As we head toward the holidays we are seeing signs of strong demand in certain markets. To get more customers to their destinations and capture more revenue during this important time of year, we're adding capacity on these routes," said Scott Lawrence, head of revenue and planning.

All travelers to and residents of the Dominican Republic are subject to the Covid-19 curfew, which was recently extended to Dec. 1.

The curfew runs Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on weekends and holidays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The curfew is designed to discourage gatherings as a Covid preventive measure.
