Marriott International's 177-room Aloft San Juan opened in mid-February as the first of the anchor properties of El Distrito, the city's new entertainment center, which will debut in April.
"We are excited to shake up the rhythm with the first Aloft hotel in the Caribbean, bringing the brand's different-by-design approach to Puerto Rico," said Christian Nieves, the hotel's general manager.
Design features include the WXYZ Bar near the lobby, which serves during the day as a space for working and networking with light meals, bites and cocktails, and at night as a live-music venue for emerging artists. Refuel by Aloft is a 24/7 grab-and-go outlet for light meals, snacks and beverages.
The hotel also offers the Recharge fitness center, a pool on the third level and event spaces for trade shows and small conferences as well as wedding venues.
