Two resorts on St. Barts that were damaged by the 2017 hurricanes are targeting December debuts.

The French hotel company Barriere Group will debut its first Caribbean property with the opening of  the Hotel Barriere Le Carl Gustaf overlooking the harbor in Gustavia.

The property, the original Le Carl Gustaf, which closed several years ago, has been redesigned. The hotel had planned to open at the end of 2018 but was derailed by Hurricane Irma.

Its 24 rooms include 13 cottages and two junior suites, loft and villa accommodations and a private home with six bedrooms, a pool and multiple terraces.

Facilities will include two restaurants, the Diane Barriere Spa, a fitness center and a yoga room.

Meanwhile, the Christopher on the north coast at Pointe Milou, with views of St. Jean Bay, reopens in December following a post-hurricane renovation.

The 42-room property includes three new villas, a new restaurant and a Sisley spa. Each villa has four bedrooms and a private pool.

The Christopher also includes two restaurants, the Sisley spa and a main pool.
