The opening of El Distrito, the entertainment, retail and dining venue in San Juan, is set for the first quarter of 2020.
Facilities at the five-acre site near the Puerto Rico Convention Center will include a 177-room Aloft Hotel; an urban zipline; the Spanish-style Barullo tapas restaurant; Pudge's Pizza, owned by baseball Hall of Famer Ivan Rodriguez; an interactive rum experience; a gourmet coffee shop; eight movie theaters; Arena Medalla; and the KidZone activity area.
Anchoring El Distrito will be the centerpiece 50,000-square-foot plaza with more than 14,000 square feet of LED screens, including the largest horizontal screens in the Americas.
The venue will host special events, nightly fireworks and daily programs with live performances, DJs, bands, dance shows and comedy acts.
