The Bimini Scuba Center at the Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina in the Bahamas recently sank four vessels off North Bimini in 85 feet of water to create a future artificial reef and scuba diving shipwreck site where divers can visit multiple wrecks on one dive.

The new wreck site is called the Coach Sugar Memorial Dive Site. It is the new home of the 165-foot J. P. Kipp Barge, the 90-foot Tug Manatee, a 70-foot landing craft dubbed The Lady in Red, and an unnamed 30-foot Cuban refugee boat.

"These artificial reefs will provide a sanctuary for undersea marine life, help establish coral growth and recruitment and will serve as a playground for scuba divers and water enthusiasts," said Duncan Brake, underwater cameraman and former Bimini Biological field station manager.
