The
17-cottage Tensing Pen, a boutique resort on the western tip of Jamaica,
announced expansion plans that include upgrades to the bar and dining areas,
the addition of several sundecks along the Caribbean seafront as well as four
new cottages.
Construction
for the first phase is slated to run from July to September.
Each
of the existing hand-carved, thatch and cut stone cottages is handcrafted by local
tradesmen. The resort also offers treetop bungalows, open-air dining, ocean
swimming and cliff diving.
Guests
can rent out the entire resort for family gatherings, weddings or large
parties. A swimming pool, spa services and yoga are available. Activities
include mountain biking, diving, parasailing and snorkeling.
Summer
rates start at $170 per night, double.
