American Queen Steamboat Co. getting Alaska expedition ship: Travel Weekly

American Queen Steamboat Co. will launch an expedition ship in Alaska in 2021, CEO John Waggoner said Thursday.

The new adventure vessel comes as part of AQSC’s recent acquisition of the Victory cruise brand and its two ships that sail the Great Lakes.

AQSC hasn’t released any details about the Alaska ship, but Waggoner confirmed plans during a tour of the Gulf Island Shipyard in Houma, Louisiana, where the two Victory ships are being renovated and the company’s fourth river boat, the American Countess, is being built.

Waggoner said the Alaskan adventure vessel would accommodate about 200 passengers.
