AmaWaterways announced the appointment of two senior executives, which CEO Catherine Powell says will position the brand for continued growth.
The river cruise line appointed Virginia Suliman as chief technology officer and Michael "Kazem" Moghtader as chief people officer.
Suliman most recently served as chief information and digital officer at Invitation Homes. She also spent 20 years at Hilton, eventually working as the senior vice president of global software engineering. AmaWaterways credited her for "combining thoughtful engineering with emotionally intelligent design."
She is charged with leading the line's long-term technology and digital strategy.
"I'm thrilled to return to travel and join AmaWaterways at such an exciting time of growth," Suliman said. "Technology and innovation help our team work smarter and allow our guests to enjoy every moment of their journey from start to finish."
Moghtader has more than 20 years of experience leading HR strategy and talent development for brands in hospitality, healthcare, retail and luxury. He most recently served as the CPO for Postcard Cabins. Previously, he was the CPO for Conifer Health Solutions, vice president of HR for Signet Jewelers and held leadership roles at JC Penney, Victoria’s Secret and Banana Republic.
He will oversee the people team and will focus on recruiting and developing talent, along with strengthening the employee experience.
"As we continue to grow, my focus is on creating an environment where employees feel supported, connected and proud of the role they play in delivering exceptional journeys," Moghtader said. "When people thrive, everything else follows."
