American Cruise Lines' inaugural Great Lakes season is underway.
The first voyage aboard the American Patriot began Saturday in Oswego, N.Y., and will conclude in Buffalo tomorrow.
The 130-passenger vessel will continue sailing the Great Lakes through August. Itineraries are nine or 14 days and exclusively visit U.S. ports.
American Cruise Lines decided to launch its first Great Lakes season due to guest demand. It is the only cruise line sailing the lakes with an American-flagged vessel, and cruise fares include a pre-cruise hotel stay; some also include domestic airfare.
The American Patriot has been in service for just under a year, making it among the newest vessels in American Cruise Lines' fleet.
