American Cruise Line said its newest ship will head to Alaska
and the Puget Sound in 2018.
The 175-passenger American Constellation, delivered in May,
is currently sailing on the U.S. East Coast.
In 2018, it will shift to Southeast Alaska, Alaska's Inside
Passage and Puget Sound itineraries, sailing 18 voyages.
With the move, the American Spirit will shift to Puget Sound
and San Juan Islands itineraries through August, giving American Cruise Line a
summer option there for the first time.
American Cruise Line said it will offer a new 11-day "Grand
Puget Sound" itinerary roundtrip from Seattle that includes some lesser-visited
ports such as Tacoma and Olympia.
The American Constellation's East Coast itineraries next
year will be taken over by the American Constitution.
